Local utilities may be furnished by your realtor as a part of your rent package depending on your rental contract and the realtor with whom you do business. If not, electrical service can be purchased through Alabama Power Co. at 1699 S. Students applying for a Social Security Number must first apply for a Letter of Good Standing through the Office of International Education (OIE). The form is located here.
This form is then processed through the OIE and then the student must take this letter to the local Social Security Office along with their Application for a Social Security Card (Form SS-5), available at the OIE. Identification Cards must be obtained at the ID Card Center in the Foy Student Union Building, phone 334-844-4507. Students must bring a current picture ID (valid passport or driver's license) and their student ID number to receive an AU ID card. |
18. How do I get a Personal Identification Number (PIN)?

The PIN is generated in the OASIS system at the time of acceptance into Graduate School and is noted as such on the letter of acceptance. If a student should not have that available, the PIN can be obtained by producing a picture ID at the receptionist's desk at the Graduate School in Hargis Hall or by calling 334-844-4700 and producing adequate ID information over the phone. |
