Graduate Research Fellowship Program

The National Science Foundation (NSF) awards approximately 1,000 new Graduate Research Fellowships to support graduate study in science, mathematics, and engineering each year. The NSF contracts with Oak Ridge Associated Universities to provide the support services for this prestigious fellowship program.

Applicants must be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States at the time of application.

Each three-year fellowship provides a stipend of $15,000 for 12-month tenure and a cost-of-education allowance of $10,500 per tenture year. Fellowships are awarded on the basis of ability.

Deadlines each year are early November. Awards are announced in March of each year.
