GRAD7000 CLEARING REGISTRATION

Offered each term for 0 hours credit.

Used to register graduate students and permit them to graduate in a particular semester, in compliance with the Auburn University requirement that students be registered the semester of graduation. Normally a student will register for regular courses, making GRAD7000 unnecessary. For those students who have completed their course work, but need to be registered to clear incomplete grades, to graduate, or to take the comprehensive examination (for non-thesis students only), GRAD7000 allows them to be registered without having to pay normal tuition. GRAD7000 does carry a registration fee that is lower, however, than tuition fees. This course does not carry any credit hours and has no meeting place or time.

Students should never register for GRAD7000 if they are registered for another course--that course "registers" them and allows them to clear incomplete grades, to graduate, or to take the comprehensive examination (for non-thesis students only).

Doctoral and master's students who have not completed, received final approval, nor submitted their dissertations or theses to The Graduate School must register for at least one hour of 7990    Research and Thesis or 8990 Research and Dissertation to complete these steps. GRAD7000 cannot be used to complete work on a thesis or dissertation.

Registration for GRAD7000 is open without restriction to all graduate students at Auburn University.
